How LEHP can help

The mission of the Lions Eye Health Programme (LEHP) is to empower communities to save sight through the early detection and timely treatment of diabetic eye disease and glaucoma and to encourage access to low vision services.

The Objectives of LEHP are:

  • To educate people about eye disease and encourage them to undergo a comprehensive eye exam

  • To encourage the early detection and timely treatment of glaucoma and diabetic eye disease

  • To assist people in accessing low vision services that will help them make best use of their remaining eyesight

  • To establish community activities that promote awareness of eye health. This includes working with eye care organisations, producing and distributing eye health materials, conducting vision screenings and eye health presentations(in conjunction with specialist support).

  • To work with and promote the network of eye health organisations concerned with eye health and rehabilitation
  • the lions health eye programme providing community support
